Car Park Fixings, Anchors and Spikes
The right anchor is what keeps a wheel stop or bollard in place for its whole service life. Calx Group supplies the fixings we use on our own Melbourne installations, so you can order the hardware with the product rather than sourcing it separately.

Choosing the right anchor for the surface
Asphalt is soft and moves with heat, so it needs a long screw with a wide thread that grips the base course rather than the surface layer. Concrete needs a shorter, high tensile screw with correct edge distance so the slab does not spall. Gravel and unsealed hardstand needs a spike with enough length to resist lateral load. If you are unsure, tell us the product and the surface and we will nominate the fixing.
Fixings for each product family
Use these anchors with car park wheel stops in concrete, rubber, plastic and timber, with truck wheel stops on hardstand and dock aprons, with surface mount bollards and surface mount bike racks, and with rubber and steel speed humps. Core drilled products such as in-ground bollards and removable bollard sleeves are concreted rather than anchored.
Frequently asked questions
How many anchors per wheel stop? Two fixings is standard for a car wheel stop and three or more for truck wheel stops and long units. Follow the fixing holes in the product.
Can I use concrete screws in asphalt? No. Concrete screws are too short to reach a stable layer in bitumen and will work loose. Use the 250mm asphalt anchor instead.
Do you supply installation tools? Anchors install with a standard impact driver and the correct socket. Our team can advise on socket sizes.
