Bollard Installation Methods
The right fixing method depends on the surface, the impact risk and whether the bollard needs to move. We confirm the method before quoting.
In-ground bollards (core drilled and concreted)
In-ground bollards give the highest resistance to vehicle impact. We core drill or excavate, set the bollard to depth, and concrete it in. This is the standard choice for shopfronts, building entries, gas meters and anywhere a vehicle strike is a real risk.
Surface mount bollards (bolt-down base plate)
Surface mount bollards bolt to an existing concrete slab with chemical or mechanical anchors. There is no excavation, so installation is quick and suits basements, suspended slabs and warehouse floors where you cannot dig. They guide traffic and protect assets from low-speed knocks.
Removable bollards (in-ground sleeve)
For driveways, loading docks and emergency access, we set a sleeve in the ground and fit removable bollards with padlock or sleeve-lock security. The bollard lifts out when access is needed and leaves a flush sleeve behind.
Fold-down parking bollards
Fold-down bollards bolt to the bay surface and lock upright to reserve a car space. The owner unlocks and folds the post flat to park.
Sign posts, bike path and asset bollards
We also install sign posts, bike path bollards, disabled parking and shared zone bollards, and asset protection bollards for meters, pumps and plant.

Which is stronger, in-ground or surface mount?
In-ground bollards concreted into the ground resist far more impact than surface mount bollards bolted to a slab. Use in-ground where a vehicle could hit at speed. Use surface mount where you cannot excavate or where the bollard mainly guides traffic.
Can you install on a suspended slab or in a basement car park?
Yes, usually with surface mount bollards so the slab is not cut through. Tell us the slab type when you ask for a quote.
Do you also install wheel stops and other car park products?
